Day 371: Cape Town to St Helena – 12/01/11

The sun doesn’t manage to find it’s way through the clouds today and it remains grey all day.  The wind strengthens as the day continues and it all has more of a feel of the Indian Ocean than the Pacific.  Yes, I know it’s the Atlantic but I thought we had left all that grey lumpy stuff behind.  Obviously not.

We have too many bananas ripening at once and not enough room in the fridge to be able to make use of our banana bag so I make a banana bread from the ripest ones.  It’s certainly not the most attractive of banana breads that I have made.  It’s heavy and gooey (just the way Mike likes them so he’s happy) but when we try to tip it out the insides try to come away from the outsides.  Still, we eat it anyway.

Our position is:  27 deg 23 min S, 08 deg 52 min E

Distance so far:  19270 nautical miles
