We decide to stay where we are for the day and do jobs around the boat although a lot of the other boats head for Lemmon Cay.

While Jim does some of his laundry, Mike and I go over to see Susan and David. They are having problems with Susan’s computer and need someone to look at it. Mike manages to sort some of it out but not all. Susan gives me some useful advice about how to get weevils out of pasta – drown them – put enough water over them and they float to the top. A woman after my own heart, she never throws any food away on the boat unless she has to either!

When we get back to Jeannius, Mike and Jim decide to try to fix the SSB radio. Glenn has told Mike that the problem probably lies with the wiring (done by Grenada Marine) and has given him a few pointers as to what to look for. Mike has limited electrical equipment for testing stuff so he knows he won’t be able to check everything but he does what he can. A few hours later, they have managed to sort it and a quick test conversation confirms Mike is transmitting. However, he is talking to someone only 2 miles away so it’s not much of a test. While they are doing this I do some laundry – exciting stuff!
To celebrate their ‘success’ Mike decides that it is a two beer and one dark and stormy day, although when I decide to have a pina colada, Jim has one of those too. Then it’s off the bed for a good nap, followed by cups of tea, our evening meal, TV and more sleeping – just like home really, except with more sleep!
