David’s back is much worse this morning and it becomes apparent that medical intervention is necessary. Obviously my administrations last night were not enough! As we need to go to Marigot to check out, Mike decides that it would be best for David to get a taxi to a specialist from there so we up anchor and leave. We are almost half a mile out of Grand Case before some of the crew realise that we are actually moving, and these crew members are actually awake.
We arrive in Marigot and Mike anchors where he finds internet connection to use for free. He is then able to find a chiropractor in Simpson Bay and books an appointment for David for later in the day.
He goes ashore to get rid of the rubbish and clear out from customs. The check out charges are stupid; 3 euros each for the crew, nothing for the captain and 5 euros for the boat. They try to charge Mike for anchoring overnight in the bay (which we hadn’t and are not going to).
We leave Marigot and motor around the corner. Mike thinks that it is going to be a hard sail, straight into the wind, so he keeps the motor on. In the event it is OK and we even manage to prepare lunch while we are on the move.
When we arrive in Simpson Bay, Mike takes Terry, Viv and David ashore. Viv and David get a taxi to the chiropractor, Mike goes to the chandlery and Terry ‘wandered around a bit’.
While they are gone, the remaining girls sunbathe and swim. Cat takes a leaf out of Ann’s book and ties herself to the boat so that she can be exceptionally lazy. Whilst tied up she danced in the water to Shakira. Well you do, don’t you?

Mike comes back with a new toy; £350’s worth of fishing rod and tackle. He even reads the instructions and puts the new bright green line on the reel ready for catching something big tomorrow.
At 4.30 we have not heard from Viv or Terry so Mike takes the dinghy to look for them. He arrives just as they are about to call. David is much better. The chiropractor, a nice young attractive South African lad, has sorted his back out and was even a source of eye candy for Viv!
During dinner, David reveals that it ended up being a slightly more expensive trip to the chiropractor than it might have been. It was his and Viv’s 30th wedding anniversary last week and he has bought her a lovely present from one of the jewellers in Maho; three gold and diamond bracelets. They are beautiful and Viv is very thrilled.
The late afternoon entertainment is provided by the planes landing in Princess Juliana Airport. Having seen some of the footage of near misses on UTube, the crew are disappointed not to have witnessed some of the same, but some of the landings are still quite impressive.

Dinner is the marinated prawn dish which is a hit with everyone (except poor Terry who doesn’t like prawns but gives them a go). A game of “Who’s In The Bag” is on the cards for tonight which sends Mike scurrying for an early night, but after a couple of bottles of wine, the game goes out the window, and the conversation turns to “which friend of the opposite sex would you sleep with if you had to”. This ends the evening rather abruptly as some people would rather go to bed than answer! Terry and David’s voices noticeably deepen during this conversation. Just Viv and I are honest!
